Wailea Beach Villas Penthouse Garage Ceiling Repairs
Erickson Structural was retained to analyze the Penthouse parking garage ceiling slab of the Wailea Beach Villas in Wailea, Maui, Hawaii, to determine the cause(s) of cracking in the conventionally reinforced portion of the ceiling slab and to recommend repairs for the slab, which included epoxy crack repair and fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) installation. Erickson Structural was retained for the final development of epoxy crack repair specifications and the design of the FRP strengthening repair scheme for the underside of the Wailea Beach Villas Penthouse parking garage ceiling. Contech Services, Inc. worked in conjunction with Erickson Structural to install the FRP to the underside of the parking garage ceiling slab and to inject epoxy into the cracks of the conventionally reinforced portion of the ceiling slab per Erickson Structural’s design and specifications.
